Harvey Weinstein has been transferred from Rikers Island to a New York City hospital after a judge approved his request to remain there during his retrial on sex crime charges. Judge Paul Goetz late Thursday ordered that Weinstein be moved to the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital so he can receive “necessary medical treatment,” according to the Associated Press. “Harvey Weinstein is pleased with the Court’s Order directing the City to transfer him from Rikers Island to Bellevue Hospital so he can receive the medical treatment he needs as he begins his trial.
