Harry Potter TV series casts Hermione, Ron and Harry, with BBC star landing lead role
The new HBO Harry Potter series has found their Harry, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley - and the actor playing the titular wizard has already starred in a BBC show
Harry Potter's executive producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod expressed their delight in a statement, announcing the show's new stars following an "extraordinary search", which kicked off in September last year. Joining an already impressive lineup, the trio of young stars will share the screen with John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Nick Frost as Hagrid, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, and Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall. The iconic role was previously brought to life by Richard Harris and Michael Gambon in the original films, while Jude Law and Toby Regbo have depicted younger incarnations in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
