Legendary composer Hans Zimmer is explaining why he decided to press skip on scoring any Marvel film soundtracks. During a recent visit to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz expressed his surprise that the Marvel Cinematic Universe had never reached out to the five-time Grammy award-winning composer about creating the soundtrack to one of their films. If it makes Feige feel any better, Marvel isn’t the only franchise that Zimmer isn’t interested in exploring — he also confirmed on the podcast that he'd pass up the opportunity to write for the Star Wars universe too, citing fellow composer John Williams ’ already established and “masterful” work.
