But while she works alongside Smart on the Max comedy series, Einbinder has enough of her own history with the long-running NBC series – she is the daughter of Laraine Newman, who starred in SNL from the very beginning. Newman was one the OG stars from season one (she’s played by Emily Fairn in Jason Reitman’s movie Saturday Night) until she left in 1980. Smart, meanwhile, was wearing a Jelly Roll t-shirt as the pair were introducing the musician.
