Hank Azaria Fears AI Can Replace ‘Simpsons’ Voice Roles and ‘Recreate 100 Voices I Created’: ‘It’s Just Wrong to Steal My Likeness or Sound’

Hank Azaria knows artificial intelligence could steal his likeness and recreate the more than 100 voices he does for "The Simpsons."

The comedian is the voice behind dozens of characters on the long-running Fox animated series, including bartender Moe and Chief Wiggum. “I imagine that soon enough, artificial intelligence will be able to recreate the sounds of the more than 100 voices I created for characters on ‘The Simpsons’ over almost four decades,” Azaria wrote in The Times. While AI will likely be able to rip off Azaria’s sound, the actor is hopeful that what the technology will never be able to do is match his body and soul.
