Gwyneth Paltrow Recalls 'Ridiculous' Ski Trial, Refused to Be 'Shaken Down'

Gwyneth Paltrow reflects on her ski trial, calling it 'ridiculous,' and revisits her 2023 legal victory and courtroom experience

Retired doctor Terry Sanderson sued the Goop founder in 2019, claiming that she severely injured him three years prior when they crashed into one another while skiing in Deer Valley, Utah. Paltrow denied the allegations and subsequently countersued Sanderson for $1 in damages and the reimbursement of her legal fees “to defend this meritless claim.” She was ultimately found not liable at the end of the March 2023 trial. After the jury ruled in her favor and found her not liable for a skiing accident in 2016, Gwyneth Paltrow made a point to say goodbye to the man behind the lawsuit — Terry Sanderson — before exiting the courtroom.
