Grey's Anatomy season finale lights up social media as Ellen Pompeo's character Meredith Grey QUITS hospital over big scandal
Grey's Anatomy lit up social media with a season 20 finale on Thursday that showed Ellen Pompeo's lead character Meredith Grey quitting Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
The episode titled Burn It Down ended with Meredith resigning, several doctors being fired in connection with her Alzheimer's research and most of the medical staff threatening to quit in an uprising against Catherine Fox [Debbie Allen]. Another post on X showed former cast member Katherine Heigl as Dr. Izzie Stevens looking distraught with the caption: 'why did catherine fire basically everyone just because she's mad at meredith.. help'. The post was referencing Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes, 54, who also created its spin-off Private Practice and the political thriller Scandal, which both aired on ABC.
