Gregg Wallace's turbulent 'hooligan' past revealed amid BBC misconduct probe


MasterChef star Gregg Wallace, who spoke of football hooligan past times and a run-in with the law, has stepped down from the BBC while an investigation takes place over historical allegations of misconduct

The MasterChef star, who recently stepped back from the BBC programme amidst an ongoing probe into past claims of misconduct, reminisced about his South London football club's "fierce reputation" and frequent encounters with the police. Among those raising concerns is former Newsnight presenter Kirsty Wark, who claimed he made jokes of a "sexualised nature" during her stint on Celebrity MasterChef in 2011, leaving her feeling they were "really, really in the wrong place". "Whilst these complainants have not raised the allegations directly with our show producers or parent company Banijay UK, we feel that it is appropriate to conduct an immediate, external review to fully and impartially investigate.
