Green Lantern TV Series Lands Director As DC Studios Continues John Stewart Screen Tests


The upcoming Green Lantern TV series has found its first director, as DC Studios continues its search for the actor to play John Stewart.

Hawes, known for his work on the Gary Oldman-led Apple TV+ spy thriller Slow Horses, brings his established TV directing credentials to the highly-anticipated DC Universe series. HBO and DC are in the final stages of casting John Stewart, with Rebel Ridge star Aaron Pierre and The Piano Lesson actor Stephan James as the top contenders for the role. Mundy is co-writing the series with Damon Lindelof, known for HBO’s Watchmen and The Leftovers, and Eisner Award winner Tom King, recognized for Mister Miracle and Supergirl.
