Great British Menu viewers hail the return of BBC show and 'national treasure' host Andi Oliver but some are unconvinced by repetitive theme


Great British Menu returned for its 19th series on Tuesday night.

The first episdoe saw chefs representing the North East compete for the chance to prepare a banquet for Team GB athletes ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris. There was a switch-up in the judging panel though as instead of presenting their dishes to Ed Gamble, Tom Kerridge and Nisha Katona (pictured) previous winner Aktar Islam took the reigns The first episdoe saw chefs representing the North East compete for a place in the final: Adam Degg, Scott John-Hodgson, Samira Effa and Cal Byerley
