Great British Bake Off star forced to leave first episode early as they're left 'gutted'
The Great British Bake Off is back for its 15th season, but one baker has been forced to leave the hit Channel 4 baking show after falling ill one day into the competition
The lovely Alison Hammond breaks the news to them, announcing that due to illness, one baker had to withdraw, leaving just 11 to face the looming elimination threat, reports the Express. The contestants for the 2024 series of The Great British Bake Off (Image: Channel 4)A source on the show said: "The baker was gutted to miss out on the second day but they weren't feeling up to it and so they had to sit it out. Despite the ups and downs in the competition, 44 year old palliative care assistant Nelly, who's had a journey from Slovakia to Austria before diving into nursing in the UK and is a mum of two, keeps her spirits high on the show.
