Grateful Dead, 2024 Kennedy Center honorees, reflect on the band's legacy and support from fans

Surviving members of the Grateful Dead, Bobby Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart, revisit the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Weir was 16 when he first heard Jerry Garcia playing banjo outside a music shop in Palo Alto. The surviving members went off to start other projects and bands, but the Grateful Dead's spirit would always live on.
