Golden-globe winning star Joan Plowright dies as devastated family pay tribute
Dame Joan Plowright, whose acting career spanned seven decades, has died at the age of 95. The star's family announced the sad news in a statement on Sunday
She's remembered as an iconic figure of British acting, with her talent earning her an Oscar nomination for Enchanted April and a Tony Award for her performance in 'A Taste of Honey. Subsequently, she crossed paths with Sir Laurence Olivier while playing Dorothy Tutin in 'The Entertainer,' and following his divorce from Vivien Leigh, they wed in 1961.
