Golden Globes fans furious after Hollywood director snubbed from 2025 nominations despite wildly popular film

Film buffs are livid by the Golden Globes 2025 nominations after Dune director Denis Villeneuve was snubbed in the Best Director category.

Battling it out for the accolade instead are Jacques Audiard for Emilia Pérez, Sean Baker for Anora, Edward Berger for Conclave, Brady Corbet for The Brutalist, Coralie Fargeat for The Substance, and Payal Kapadia for All We Imagine as Light. Starring Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, and Lea Seydoux, Dune: Part Two is the second instalment of Frank Herbert's novel of the same name. Jon M. Chu and Ridley Scott were also surprise omissions from the Best Director - Motion Picture category, despite respective blockbusters Wicked and Gladiator II enjoying enormous box office success.
