Roman Kemp is reportedly being lined up for a role on Match of the Day once Gary Lineker brings the curtain down on his 23-year reign as the face of the BBC show

As discussions are still ongoing, it's not entirely clear what position Kemp would take on, but his background in broadcasting, including his current stint on The One Show with Alex Jones, certainly plays to his favour. The BBC has recently secured a new highlights deal with the Premier League, allowing them to broadcast match action earlier than their usual 10.30pm slot on Saturday nights.
