GloRilla Revises New Song After Facing Backlash Over Using ‘R-Word’


The “Yea, Glo!” rapper joins several artists who have had to revise their work at fan request.

GloRilla recently showed she's open to feedback when she swiftly altered the lyrics of her song after fans criticized her use of the “R-word.” It all went down when the Memphis-based rapper teased a track where she rapped the words, “Me and my b—ch r-word.” The snippet went viral almost immediately, quickly garnering backlash over the controversial term. Lizzo addressed a similar controversy surrounding her song “Grrrls.” The track faced backlash for including the ableist term “spaz.”
