'Inside Out 2' has passed 'Minions' to become the fifth biggest animated film of all time with a global gross of $1.22 billion
It was a big weekend globally for animated movies as Disney and Pixar’s “ Inside Out 2 ” and Universal and Illumination’s “ Despicable Me 4 ” cleaned up at the international box office. “Inside Out 2,” already the biggest hit of 2024, continued to climb up the list of all-time animated releases, passing “Minions” to become the fifth-highest grossing film in the genre with its $1.22 billion global haul. In the U.S., the animated sequel, which sees Steve Carell return as Gru, and pits him against his “Anchorman” co-star Will Ferrell, playing a French supervillain, topped the Fourth of July box office, earning $122.6 million stateside.
