Glen Powell Says ‘Vast Parts’ of US Are ‘Underserved’ By Movie Studios

Texas native Glen Powell thinks movie studios focus too much on the tastes of New York and Los Angeles, saying ‘vast parts of America have been underserved’

“Having grown up in and around Texas, I’m aware there are vast parts of America that have been underserved in terms of movies that they want to see,” Powell told The Telegraph in an interview published on Saturday, July 13. In his later years, he made the move to starring in comedies such as Set It Up and the Fox TV series Scream Queens before Sylvester Stallone cast him in the 2014 action sequel Expendables 3. “One of the things that I’ve realized recently is that when studios say a genre is dead, all it means is that there’s a huge opportunity, because a market is not being served,” he told The Telegraph.
