Gladiators fans go wild for stunning bodybuilder Diamond as she makes her debut on rebooted show: 'She is definitely this generation's Jet!'

The show, once a Saturday evening staple hosted Ulrika Jonsson and John Fashanu, has been rebooted and relaunched by the BBC - 16-years after it was axed by Sky.

Diamond - real name Liv Sheldon - was introduced as "six foot tall, a footballer turned bodybuilder who has got all the attributes to be a duel winner" and can "lift 160kg which is the equivalent of a gorilla." Gladiators fans were transported back the show's mid-nineties heyday on Saturday evening after new competitor Diamond (left) was compared to the iconic Jet (right) The first of the 11-episodes found viewers take a trip down memory lane, with some getting very nostalgic, calling for other popular shows to come back, including Blind Date and Noel's House Party.
