Following the release of the trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel, MailOnline looks back at the cast of the original 2000 Gladiator movie and where they are now.
Since then, fans of the gory historical epic, starring Russell, 60, and Joaquin Phoenix, 49, have been eagerly waiting for a follow-up installment to the beloved film - and now it's finally happening. Connie Nielson starred as Lucilla, the eldest child of Marcus Aurelius and Maximus' former lover who she tries to help in saving Rome (pictured left in Gladiator and right in 2023) Spencer has also made frequent appearances on the small screen including his role as Werner von Strucker in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (2015-2018) and as Adrian Dolan in Animal Kingdom (2016-2019).
