Gladiator II and Wicked dubbed new Barbenheimer as fans fight over nickname
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo star in the film adaptation of the Broadway hit, while Ridley Scott's Gladiator II features Paul Mescal. Both films will be released on November 22.
They're set to be the two biggest blockbusters of the year, and will be released in movie theaters simultaneously, but film fans are fighting over what the joint nickname for Wicked and Gladiator II should be. Another X user posted a mocked image of Cynthia and Paul's characters posing on a ship, in a nod to the movie Titanic, and wrote alongside it: 'Combined opening of more than $150M easy. When asked about the potential Glicked nickname recently, Paul - who plays Lucius Verus in the upcoming film - told The Hollywood Reporter: 'I don't wanna jinx anything.
