The GLAAD board of directors have expressed their support for the organization’s CEO and president Sarah Kate Ellis in light of a recent report from the New York Times accusing her of lavish spending. As for the LGBTQ organization’s internal policies, the Times reported that employees were recommended to fly economy, use public transportation and “be cost conscious.” But, Ellis allegedly expensed first-class flights, luxury hotels and private car services. “The Board recognized that corrective measures were necessary and took swift and decisive action to make changes, including strengthening GLAAD’s policies, controls and training,” the statement read.
