Giovanni Pernice flees the country after 'quitting' Strictly: Dancer is comforted by girlfriend Molly Brown in Dubai after leaving BBC show amid firestorm over his 'militant' training style with celebrities

The dancer, 33, is said to have left the programme because the scrutiny became 'too much' when his ex dance partners slammed his 'militant' approach.

Giovanni Pernice fled to Dubai with his girlfriend Molly Brown this week days before it emerged that he's quit Strictly Come Dancing after nine years on the show 'But right now there's a feeling that Gio is pretty much untouchable - especially given he is so close to Anton who thinks the world of him and can't believe the stuff he's been hearing claimed about his mate.' The BBC said earlier this year they would not be investigating Giovanni's behaviour with Amanda, with a spokesperson saying: 'There is a constant dialogue between the senior production team and contestants to ensure any concerns are addressed swiftly.'
