George Wendt dead: Ted Danson leads tributes to Cheers co-star


Cheers star George Wendt has died aged 76 and now his co-stars and friends have been remembering the beloved sitcom star

Melissa Joan Hart, who had the pleasure of working alongside George on the later series of Sabrina The Teenage Witch, paid tribute to the late actor on her Instagram page, writing: "Heaven just got a little funnier with #GeorgeWendt. The NBC show, which ran for 11 seasons from 1982 to 1993, earned 117 Emmy nominations and won 28 times, including four Outstanding Comedy Series awards. He made an unexpected appearance on stage with his Cheers co-stars at the Emmy Awards in January 2024, with Ted Danson and Kelsey Grammer among those present for the surprise reunion.
