George Michael's Last Christmas - cause of star's tragic death on December 25 aged 53
Christmas 2016 came with the devastating news that Wham! star George Michael had passed away at the age of 53, but it wasn't until March 2017 that his cause of death was confirmed
"Inquiries into the death of George Michael have been concluded and the final post-mortem report received," announced Darren Salter, senior coroner for Oxfordshire, at the time. In a statement at the time, the star's publicist had said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period. "It's a xmas I will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning..,(sic)" the celebrity hairdresser wrote on X, which was known as Twitter at the time.
