George Lucas Comes Out In Support Of Bob Iger, Disney In Proxy Battle: “Creating Magic Is Not For Amateurs”
George Lucas is the latest to come out in support of Disney as the company wages a bitter proxy war against activist investor Nelson Peltz.
I remain a significant shareholder because I have full faith and confidence in the power of Disney and Bob’s track record of driving long-term value. Disney insists neither Peltz nor Rasulo have much to contribute to the board at a particularly complicated time for media that needs the laser focus of its own seasoned pros. Business leaders like JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a dean at the Yale School of Management, have come out in support of Iger.
