George Clooney Says He's 'Not Doing Romantic Films Anymore' for This Reason: 'Not My Job'

'Good Night, and Good Luck' star George Clooney said on '60 Minutes' that he's 'not doing romantic films anymore' due to his age, 63

While Clooney is just as know for dramatic roles, he has played his fair share of leading men in rom-coms — including in One Fine Day(1996) and, most recently, in 2022's Ticket to Paradise, opposite pal Julia Roberts. On screen, Clooney played producer Fred Friendly, but on stage, he steps into the shoes of Murrow — the role that earned David Strathairn a 2006 Oscar nomination. Clooney co-wrote Good Night, and Good Luck — both the film and the stage production, and both alongside Grant Heslov — and stars in the play alongside Glenn Fleshler as Fred Friendly plus Mac Brandt, Will Dagger, Christopher Denham, Ilana Glazer, Clark Gregg and more.
