George Clooney looks smart in a suit as he heads to Late Show with Stephen Colbert taping in New York City

George Clooney stepped out in just a thin suit when he was spotted arriving at a taping of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday in chilly Manhattan.

The actor and filmmaker, who sported short salt-and-pepper hair swept to the side, will be starring in the upcoming play as the legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow. The all-star cast also included Robert Downey Jr., Jeff Daniels, Patricia Clarkson, Frank Langella and Twin Peaks star Ray Wise. He's set to star in the ensemble feature dramedy Jay Kelly, marking his first appearance in a film directed by Barbie co-writer Noah Baumbach.
