George Clooney Is Obviously Not Bothered by Trump Attacks: ‘I Don’t Care’

George Clooney brushed off Donald Trump's recent attack on him, saying, 'My job is not to please the President of the United States.'

The play (based on the 2006 movie of the same name) tells the story of journalist Edward R. Murrow, who overcame political and corporate pressure to report on Joseph McCarthy and his anti-communist witch hunts in the 1950s. On 60 Minutes, Clooney pointedly spoke about Trump’s efforts to stifle the media, both through verbal attacks and a recent spate of lawsuits. He noted ABC News’ decision to settlea defamation lawsuit with the Trump administration, as well as the $20 billion suit Trump has filed against CBS News, claiming 60 Minutes engaged in election interference by editing an interview with Kamala Harris to make her look good.
