General Hospital’s Elizabeth MacRae Dead at Age 88
‘General Hospital’ and ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ star Elizabeth MacRae died at age 88
When it came to her film career, MacRae worked alongside director Frances Ford Coppola for the 1974 movie The Conversation, in which she starred as Meredith. She and her husband, Charles Day Halsey, Jr. — who died earlier this year at age 96 — eventually relocated back to North Carolina. According to her obituary, the late actress donated “a trove of items chronicling her acting career” to the University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill’s Southern Historical Collection.
