Doug Lanham, a friend and former business partner of the Hollywood legend, revealed that Betsy ensured Gene had a healthy diet, with the actor only indulging in 'cheat' foods like steak during golf outings. In a heartfelt statement to the PA news agency, they expressed their sorrow: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy. She reflected on her father's vitality, saying: "Despite his age, he was in very good physical condition," and noted that he hadn't undergone any major surgeries recently.
