Gene Hackman's estate tries to block release of shocking photos and records of death investigation

The estate of the late actor Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa is reportedly trying to keep the public from seeing potentially disturbing photos of the scene where they died.

The estate is attempting to block the release of autopsy results and the investigation notes, including the audiovisual elements; police are seen outside Hackman's home on February 27 in Santa Fe, New Mexico Julia Peters, a representative for Hackman and Arakawa's estate, asked a Santa Fe state district court on Tuesday to keep records related to the investigation sealed to protect the privacy of their family. While Santa Fe Sheriff Adam Mendoza says he's confident of the timeline of what occurred at the couple's property, he told reporters on Friday that the case remains open until they 'close the loopholes.'
