Gena Rowlands dead at 94: The Notebook star passed away at her California home - two months after revealing Alzheimer's battle
The Notebook star Gena Rowlands had died at age 94.
She famously portrayed the older version of actress Rachel McAdams' Allie in her son Nick Cassavetes's beloved 2004 film The Notebook starring Ryan Gosling. He told Entertainment Weekly in June that Gena had been battling the disease for five years, and was now 'in full dementia.'
