Gavin Creel dead at 48: Tony Award-winning Broadway star passes away from aggressive form of cancer


Creel also played Troy Winslow on the TV series American Horror Stories.

Creel died on Monday, Sept. 30, as he was receiving treatment for a rare and aggressive form of sarcoma - according to his partner, Alex Temple Ward. Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that forms in connective tissues including bone, muscle, fat, nerves, blood vessels, and more. The actor impressively earned a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway debut in the 2002 in a lead role of Thoroughly Modern Millie.
