On Monday 2 September, James Corden, whose character Smithy is expected to tie the knot with Nessa, teased fans on social media ahead of the show's return. The BBC comedy, which originally aired from 2007 to 2010, made a comeback in 2019 with a Christmas special, but left fans with more questions than answers after ending on a cliffhanger as Nessa proposed to Smithy but viewers didn't get to hear his reply.
