Gabby Logan halts Great North Run coverage for tragic BBC announcement

BBC presenter Gabby Logan interrupted coverage of the Great North Run to share the sad news that Claire Lomas has passed away following a recent accident in Jordan

Gabby Logan sadly had to halt coverage of the Great North Run on BBC One today to share some tragic news with viewers. The veteran TV presenter was hosting the coverage on Sunday, 8 September, live from Tyneside and began the day by introducing a special rendition of anthem Local Hero, before a montage of Great North Run highlights from the past 43 years were shown. Clips shown included Mo Farah's final Great North Run as well as Claire Lomas, who completed the race in 2016 using a bionic suit.
