Gabby Douglas Ends 2024 Paris Olympics Quest Due to Ankle Injury

Gabby Douglas officially ended her Paris Olympics bid, withdrawing from the U.S. Gymnastics Championships with an ankle injury

Douglas, 28, cited an ankle injury as the reason she would be unable to vie to become the oldest U.S. gymnast to compete in the Olympics since 1952. After years of blood, sweat and tears, participating in the most prestigious athletic event in the world is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Some athletes compete one time in the Olympic Games and hang up their hats, stepping gracefully into retirement.
