Gérard Depardieu tells court he grabbed sexual assault accuser by hips to avoid slipping

Actor denies this was assault and tells court any crude comments towards the woman were due to his bad mood

“I grabbed her hips,” Depardieu said on Tuesday, admitting to physical contact with Amelie K, a set decorator, for the first time and saying he had not mentioned it when interrogated by police. Prosecutors allege the assaults against Amelie K and another woman – their full identities have not been revealed – took place during the filming in 2021 of Les Volets verts(The Green Shutters). Depardieu is accused of groping Amelie K on the film set, pulling her towards him and trapping her with his legs before touching her waist, hips, breasts and genitals, while saying obscene words.
