Funkmaster Flex Goes on Rant Against ‘Million Dollar Baby’: ‘Sounds Like a Shoe Store’

The legendary DJ called us all "clowns."

Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex — who’s been a staple on New York City airwaves for decades — isn’t feeling Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.” Adding, “Watch the terrible part as it comes in… where you hear the tin can drums,” as the beat starts to build and Tommy Richman’s voice can be heard. This time the DJ tells his listeners that he’s going to play a record suitable for New York in order to “bring us back from the depths of Hell, from the depths of garbage” and then adds that the song “sounds like it was made on a Casio machine.” Flex also says the song makes him question why he’s a DJ and questions whether he’s “aged out” before acknowledging how big the record is.
