Full list of people who can cancel BBC TV licence and get £169.50 refund

There's 43% of people in the UK who don't fully understand what a TV licence is, a study revealed earlier this year - but some people don't even need one and if you're eligible you can get a refund

With the cost of a full TV licence now at £169.50 following an inflation increase in April, it's a significant yearly expense - making it essential to check if you really need one, especially with incomes still under pressure. However, a survey conducted earlier this year by FCA-regulated credit broker Viva Money revealed that a shocking 43% of UK adults don't fully understand what the TV licence involves. TV Licensing will then assess the application, determine eligibility, and work out the refund amount, which is generally based on full unused months.
