From Hollyoaks to Hollywood! Soap stars who've hit the big time from Ricky Whittle to Nathalie Emmanuel

The 33 year old actor is now a big Hollywood star, having won roles in Christopher Nolan film Tenet, The Aeronauts and Beatles-inspired Yesterday, as well as Netflix movies Don't Look Up and Enola Holmes 2. Back in the Noughties, Ricky Whittle looked to be following a well-trodden soap star path - he had a prominent role in Hollyoaks from 2006 to 2011 as Calvin Valentine and was the 2009 Strictly Come Dancing runner-up. She first found fame in Hollyoaks as Calvin's troubled younger sister Sasha Valentine, but has had the biggest success of any of her fellow soap stars by moving to Hollywood.
