Friends is set to return with a spin-off after 20 years, telling the story of Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey through the eyes of Central Perk barista Gunther
A Friends spin-off show is returning to London, telling the story of what happened to Rachel, Ross, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe, and Joey after the sitcom ended. Talking about how he explores Gunther's rivalry with Ross as he desperately tries to impress his crush Rachel, Brendan added: "If you were looking for the main narrative arc, across the 10 seasons, we’re looking at the Ross and Rachel storyline, which for Gunther makes a lot of sense but I also wanted to hit as many of the moments people are looking forward to: the lobster, the Holiday Armadillo – all of that. But creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane were impressed by how he built up a huge UK following, with Gunther going on to being the character who made the most appearances throughout Friends aside from the main six.
