Freddie Prinze Jr. set to reprise one of his most iconic roles in a highly-anticipated sequel

Freddie Prinze Jr. is returning to one of his most iconic roles that put him on the map more than two decades ago.

Now a year and a half later, his casting is confirmed, though the report added that Love Hewitt, 'is still very much in negotiations to reprise the role of Julie James.' Prinze Jr. returns as Ray Bronson, with a new cast that includes Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Hauer-King. She did not mention, however, the 2006 straight-to-video sequel I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer likely won't be considered part to of the franchise canon, since it featured none of the first two film's original stars and had no connection to the story.
