Former NFL Star Vontae Davis Found Dead at 35

Former professional football player Vontae Davis was found dead on April 1, 2024. He was 35. During his NFL career, Davis played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills, and was known for retiring during halftime in 2018.

The retired football pro was found dead in Southwest Ranches, Florida on Monday morning, the Davie Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE. Officers responded to the residence “in reference to a medical call” that was made by “the house assistant, who found the homeowner deceased,” police said in a statement to PEOPLE. During his 10-season NFL career, the cornerback played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills.
