Former MTV VJ Matt Pinfield Shares New Recovery Update Following Stroke


Industry stalwart Matt Pinfield has told fans he is "slowly but surely" continuing to recover from a massive stroke he suffered earlier this year.

Pinfield, a onetime Columbia Records VP of A&R who has had a number of radio gigs over the past 20 years — most recently co-hosting The Power Hour on AXS TV — suffered the stroke on Jan. 6. Now, just months on from the health scare, Pinfield will be making his first large-scale public appearance since the incident when he hosts the ceremony to honor Green Dayreceiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Pinfield’s role in Green Day’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony will see him appearing alongside tennis legend Serena Williams and actor/producer Ryan Reynolds, who both serve as guest speakers for the event.
