Former Hockey Player Janne Puhakka Dead at 29 in Suspected Murder
Finland’s first openly gay ice hockey player Janne Puhakka was found dead in his home over the weekend
Soon after Puhakka’s death was confirmed, Finland’s former Prime Minister Sanna Marin took to Instagram to share an image of the former ice hockey player with a broken love heart emoji. On March 18, 2024, former NHL players Konstantin Koltsov and Chris Simon were announced dead in separate instances, the latest in a string of recent passings to rock the sport.
