Former Cinecittà Studios CEO Nicola Maccanico Appointed Head of Fremantle Italy

Former Cinecittà Studios CEO Nicola Maccanico has been appointed head of Fremantle Italy while France CEO Bruno Fallot has now expanded his role.

Maccanico, who is a former Warner Bros. and Sky Italia senior exec, had been spearheading the radical overhaul of Cinecittà when he stepped last June down, after a three-year stint, when Italy’s right wing government decided to change the studios’ management team. He had been instrumental to relaunching the iconic filming facilities that last year lured big shoots such as Roland Emmerich’s gladiator series “Those About to Die” starring Anthony Hopkins and Netflix’s period soap “The Decameron.” Their respective CEO’s Sonia Rovai, Annamaria Morelli, Luca Bernabei, and Marco Tombolini will report to him.
