Former BBC presenter dies as boss pays tribute to 'a journalistic icon'


David Capper, who was the national radio correspondent for BBC Northern Ireland's Scene Around Six, has died at the age of 91, the BBC has confirmed

Adam Smyth, Director of BBC NI, has paid an emotional tribute to David, calling him a "journalistic icon". "He was an eyewitness to some of the most harrowing events of The Troubles, including Bloody Sunday, and could be fully relied upon to provide a trusted account of what he saw," he added.
