A famous footballer told his Instagram followers he was feeling 'incredibly proud' as he marked his parents' 55th wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
Michael was born in Cheshire and is the fourth child to Jeanette and Terry Owen, who was also a professional footballer, playing for clubs such as Chester City and Everton. Fans couldn't help but point out how the star's mum bore a striking resemblance to the retired footballer's daughter Gemma (right), who appeared on Love Island Despite his blistering rise through the Liverpool youth ranks, the player kept a lid on his academic career, leaving with 10 GCSEs before signing his professional contract with the Reds in 1996.
