Football star dead as Liverpool FC lower flags to half-mast

The Liverpool football community is in mourning following the sad news that former captain Ron Yeats has passed away at the age of 86, after a battle with Alzheimer's. Liverpool FC confirmed the passing of their first FA Cup-winning skipper and have paid tribute by lowering flags to half-mast at their training ground. Yeats was a true Reds legend, having played in an impressive 454 matches for Liverpool, wearing the captain's armband for 400 of those games- a record surpassed only by Steven Gerrard.
